How to use Threads as a Business or Brand

Grab your coffee and join the conversation! ☕

ICYMI: On July 5th, 2023 Mark Zuckerberg unveiled Threads, a new app developed by Instagram. It’s designed specifically for text sharing, yes, basically like Twitter…

But, this is your chance to master a new platform NOW!

People have been asking questions about Threads left and right, don’t know how to navigate the platform and how to make themselves nor their businesses stand out.

I got access to this platform the same day you did and I fully immersed myself into it!

I have been testing out every. single. feature.

So, let’s get into it! ⬇️

Getting Started on Threads

1. Go to your app store and download the app.

2. Log in using your Instagram account.

3. Complete your bio.

You can either import your bio from Instagram or write a new bio.

🚨 Remember to optimize based your mission, purpose and don't forget to add relevant keywords.

4. Add a relevant link. Make sure the link you add is relevant to your "new" mission.

5. Write your first post (thread, I guess) and/or join a conversation.

How to Thread

Similar to Instagram, Threads allows you to connect to your target audience and other like-minded folks.

✨ While this platform offers a unique space to engage in meaningful conversations, it's essential to approach it with authenticity and a focus on building relationships rather than overpromoting.

You don’t have to have it all figured out yet. Allow yourself to wander but remember these…

5 Tips for Businesses & Brands Joining Threads:

1. Engage in Conversations

One of the key aspects of using Threads as a business or brand is actively participating in conversations.

❌ DON’T solely push promotional content.

✅ DO initiate and contribute to discussions that resonate with your audience.

Here’s how:

  • Ask thought-provoking questions

  • Seek feedback

  • Respond to comments

  • Create a sense of community

By being present and engaged, you can establish connections and build relationships that go beyond a transactional nature.

2. Provide Valuable Tips and Insights

Threads offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise and provide value to your audience.

What you’ll want to share:

  • Practical tips

  • Industry insights

  • Helpful advice related to your niche

Be generous with your knowledge, offering solutions to common challenges or addressing frequently asked questions. Give, give, give.

By positioning yourself as a valuable resource, you'll build credibility and trust among your followers.

3. Share Inspiring Stories

Humans are naturally drawn to stories so share your inspiring success stories, case studies, or testimonials that highlight the positive impact of your products or services.

Whether it's a customer's journey, a transformational experience, or a meaningful collaboration, storytelling can evoke emotions and create a lasting connection with your audience.

This will absolutely inspire others and demonstrate the value your brand brings.

4. Take Advantage of UGC

Encourage your audience to actively participate by generating their own content related to your brand or industry.

Run contests, challenges, or campaigns that invite user-generated content and reward participants.

This not only increases engagement but also showcases the genuine enthusiasm and creativity of your followers.

📣 By amplifying their voices, you foster a sense of belonging and community.

5. Cultivate a Positive and Supportive Environment

Threads can serve as a platform to spread positivity and support. 🫶🏼

Be mindful of the language and tone you use, ensuring it aligns with your brand's values.

Create a safe space where people feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and ideas. Encourage respectful conversations, celebrate diversity, and address issues in a constructive manner.

By nurturing a positive environment, you foster trust and loyalty, attracting a community of like-minded individuals.

✨ Using Threads as a business or brand goes beyond promotional efforts. It's about building genuine connections, providing valuable insights, and inspiring others.

Pro Tip: Don’t repost all your IG posts. Your best bet will be utilizing text pieces and quotes from your posts and captions 😉 But remember, hashtags don’t work (yet)

Here's 5 more lessons I learned about Threads from being an early adapter and seriously getting zero sleep the first few days!

By engaging in conversations, sharing practical tips, and fostering a supportive environment, you can establish a strong online presence that resonates with your audience.

Embrace the platform as a tool to cultivate relationships and make a positive impact in the digital landscape.
